Eagle Scout Project: Community Fire Pit Upgrade

In 2019 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced an end to a very long relationship with the Boy Scouts of America. While a large number of young men in the church decided to not continue their path to Eagle Scout that wasn’t the case for Micah Andersen in Arvada.

Micah joined Troop 329 in Golden Colorado and continued his journey toward Eagle Scout.

Last Saturday was his Eagle Scout Project, a culminating larger service project that is required in order to obtain the Eagle Scout rank.

Micah decided to give some much-needed attention to a recreational area on the grounds of a local church meeting house in Arvada.

This included replacing the benches and repairing the concrete of a fire pit.

In addition, 4 horseshoe pits were repaired and leveled.

40 total volunteers collectively spent 105 hours on this service project.
