Aurora Youth Help Prepare Local Museum for Winter Closure

By Jack Whetten, Aurora Stake Media Specialist

More than 40 young men and young women from the Aurora Colorado Stake recently participated in a service project to assist the Comanche Crossing Historical Society Museum in preparing for its annual winter closure.

The museum, located in Strasburg, tells the story of pioneer life on the eastern Colorado plains.

The youth pulled weeds, painted outbuildings and did some cleaning. Afterwards, Brother and Sister Handy of the Strasburg Ward graciously hosted the youth and their leaders at their home, where they enjoyed Dutch oven cobbler with ice cream prepared by Brother Travis Harris.

Then they enjoyed games and conversation and finished things off with messages from Brother David Burdick (Stake Young Men President), Sister Diana Rotella (Stake Young Women President), and President Luis Rivera (First Counselor in the Stake Presidency). It was a fantastic afternoon!

Thank you to all who contributed their time and talents to serve as the Savior did!
