Annual Mormon Night at the Rockies Draws Fans, the Colorado Mormon Chorale, and a Rockies Win!

Tuesday, September 26th, marked a special night of major league baseball. For the 6th year running, the Colorado Rockies Organization hosted members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) for the annual “Mormon Night at the Rockies.” Families could make the most of discount seating, take all the children, meet up with friends, and enjoy a night of baseball.

The pre-game ceremonies were heralded in by Elder Thomas L. Priday, Area Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his wife, Marva, together with President Scott Savage and his wife, Cindi, of the Denver North Mission of the LDS Church. Tim Bradford, a Brigham Young University (BYU) Alumni Association Denver Chapter board member, and his son, Arthur, joined them to greet fans from home plate. Rockies pitcher, Jeff Hoffman, and Dinger, the Rockies’ purple prehistoric mascot, greeted the guests of honor as well.

Boys Scouts from Troop 95 of the Newlin Meadows Ward, Parker Colorado Stake of the LDS Church were honored with the presentation of the colors. Opening ceremonies were capped off with a beautiful performance of the national anthem, performed by the Colorado Mormon Chorale.

The evening ended on a positive note with the Rockies beating the Marlins 6-0!
