Statement From Area Presidency About Boulder Tragedy

We express our deep sorrow at the senseless violence and tragic deaths of 10 people in the recent Boulder, Colorado shootings. Like so many others, our hearts grieve with the families, friends, and
communities affected by these terrible events.

With tender feelings, we acknowledge that we are truly all neighbors and, in the admonition of God, we “mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort.” As congregations and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we offer our collective prayers and support on behalf of all those affected. And in the coming days, months, and years, we will strive more fully to stand as a people of faith to love one another, serve all, and bless our communities.

To the many heroic volunteers and professionals who have served, and who are serving, the community we extend our profound thanks. May God’s blessings of peace and comfort be felt by all at this time.

The North America Central Area Presidency,

Elder S. Gifford Nielson
Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong
Elder Arnulfo Valenzuela Realivasquez
Elder Jeremy R. Jaggi
