Parker & Aurora Youth Assemble Hygiene Kits for Migrants
By Corey Christiansen, Denver Region Media Specialist
A recent tri-stake dance brought teenagers from Parker and Aurora together and gave them more than just a fun night of music and dancing. It also gave them an opportunity to serve their community.
On April 27, youth from the Parker, Parker South and Arapahoe Stakes took time away from their dance to assemble 250 hygiene kits. The kits were then donated to Catholic Charities and the African Community Center to be given to migrant individuals and families who recently arrived in the Denver area.
Members of each of the three stakes donated the items that went into the kits, including toothbrushes, dental floss, shampoo, conditioner and soap bars. The youth also decorated cards and included them with the kits to share smiles with the kits’ recipients.
This was an incredible example of our church’s youth sharing the love of Jesus Christ with their neighbors!
