Denver Stake Hosts Thanksgiving Dinner for Unhoused

By Corey Christiansen, Denver Region Media Specialist

The season of gratitude is always about more than just being grateful for what we have. It’s also about being grateful for the opportunity to serve our neighbors and to uplift those who need it most.

The Denver Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints certainly had this spirit of service in mind when it recently hosted a multi-stake interfaith Thanksgiving dinner. The event was specifically focused on serving the unhoused and needy in the neighboring Aurora community.

Throughout the evening, the Denver Stake provided more than 700 meals along with free coats for the unhoused. Everyone who attended also enjoyed the opportunity to listen to uplifting music and find friendship together.

As an interfaith event, the Denver Stake was supported by several other local churches and was extremely grateful for their support!
