Arvada Youth Provide Service to Rose Roots Community Garden

Young men and women from an Arvada congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered this last week to help with weeding and other projects at the Rose Roots Community Garden.

Patty from Rose Roots Community Garden said, “Many thanks for rounding up 40-50 kids and adults to help Rose Roots Community Garden with weeding of our common areas. The four teams worked well with the leaders and, together, were able to pull many many wheelbarrows of weeds within the garden and along the south fence. The place looks well tended for our meeting with the City next week.

The work is much appreciated by garden leadership and gardeners alike and we hope we were able to inspire a good number of them to become future gardeners! Please extend our appreciation to those who participated in this event.”

Rose Roots Community Garden is a local garden in North West Arvada. They have been working with the City of Arvada and Denver Urban Gardens since 2012 to grow local and healthy produce in an open space that enables residents to be involved in planting, growing, and maintaining a garden.
