19 Groups Work Together To Collect Backpacks

Young single adult members of the church in the boulder area worked along with 18 groups of churches, friends, and local corporations around the Denver metro area to collect and fill backpacks.

This backpack drive is an annual endeavor for Lutheran Family Services. These backpacks filled with notebooks, folders, crayons, rulers, pencil bags, and more are put together to support children in Lutheran Family Services foster care and refugee programs as they return to school this month.

In total over 260 backpacks were collected and filled. In addition to the backpacks almost $5000 in gif cards and even more in cash and check donations were collected.

Thank you to everyone who helped with these efforts!

Lutheran Family Services also conducts similar “Thanksgiving Bags” and “Angel Tree Gifts” campaigns in the fall. Learn more about these and other volunteer opportunities by clicking here.
