Denver North Stake Brings Service and Smiles to Thorntonfest
By Corey Christiansen, Denver Metro Area Media Specialist
Members of the Denver North Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave a significant service boost to the City of Thornton’s annual community festival, Thorntonfest.
JustServe Denver North set up an ultra-efficient assembly station where participants could assemble care kits for the unhoused in less than 30 seconds. All they had to do was grab a bag, fill it and then drop it in a box to be delivered to those in need.
Event organizers said even the kids at the festival loved getting involved in the service project. Festival goers were able to complete more than 300 care kits at the JustServe station!
Gwenn Woodhouse, Communication Director for the Denver North Stake said, “A huge thanks to all our generous sock donors. A special shoutout as well to the Primary youth for their heartfelt cards included in each bag—such a meaningful touch!”
In the Church of Jesus Christ, Primary refers to the organization that serves children under age 12.
Amazing job Denver North Stake!
