70 Trash Bags in Two Hours – Thornton City
On August 6, 2021 members of the Denver North Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helped beautify Thornton City’s Explore Campus.
Approximately thirty volunteers picked enough weeds around the Mapleton School District’s Campus to fill over seventy trash bags in two hours.
Kids as young as four came to help out. The Church has many members that work for the school district and now volunteers have been able to give back in a way that helps beautify their environment.
This project was created through the Just Serve organization. This organization assists people in finding service opportunities in their respective areas.
I love these kinds of community activities. Clean-up drive in the community is one of the school activities and collective efforts of parents, teachers, and other locals to enhance the environment alongside the school. It brings the volunteers to work together in achieving their missions, and those are cleaning and enhancing areas that have been ignored, misused, or vandalized.
